Planning diary
Day one:
Within the first day of shooting we intend to start of the music video by initiating and completing the start of the music video. We hope to film and get enough footage that once edited could make up the first forty seconds of the music video. When filming the group has to think of the location, costume, camerawork and what time everyone should be ready to commence the shooting.
On the first day the group is going to shot the majority of the video in a log cabin as well as a field. We are planning to meet at midday as we can film the footage outside in the film when the lighting will still be bright and can be used effectively once edited. We are going to film Pearce as the main character and have Jack as his additional character, to show there is a relationship between the two we plan to have them both introduced within the first few seconds of the song. Once the characters have been introduced we will then announce to the public the name of the song we are doing and the artist who sings it.
Costume is a key feature when creating a music video. Within the first day we hope to use 3 different costumes. The outfits will all be brightly coloured, usually a t-shirt with a jumper over the top and a snapback hat.
Day Two:
Throughout the second day of filming the group plans to get the majority of the filming done as we will have most of the day to film. We plan to meet early in the morning and finish late at night to get the most out of the different types of weather and lighting.
The group will follow the music’s narrative more and James will use key camerawork skills to Record Pearce rapping towards the camera. The costumes will stay similar, just different coloured clothing. The will be a change of location and will predominantly be shot in a range of different fields and train stations/tracks.
Day Three:
On the third day of shooting we are going to film in a town because it is a different location and is a very urban setting, which is commonly used in my hip-hop music videos. We are going to use low/high angle shots to show the characters dominance in the music video.
Costumes will be similar and ‘trendy’. Like all hip-hop music videos costumes has to be changed through the song to keep the audience engaged in the video.
