The editing software we are using is Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 the reason for using this is that some of us in the group are used to this software and we have become familiar with it in AS and use it out of school. We spent a lot of time cutting footage to fit into the rapid editing sequences because we couldn't find the right shots to fit in with the other fast viewing shots. We wanted every shot in a fast sequence to either be related to each other, or a sequence of shots that are completely irrelevant to each other. We eventually decided to use shots that we irrelevant to each other as the different locational shots fitted in better with the fast pased music.
We also used some effects such as chaning the the scale and position of the clips with each key frame to create a sense that the camera is shaking to fit in with the music, also we would make the scale larger to make it look like the camera is zooming in, but a lot smoother. We used black and white clips to represent a place or to create a feel for the clip such as making the clip look dark and gloomy. We also changed the colour scheme and also done lots of colour grading to accentuate the vibrance to fit in with the scene and music.
Transitions were also very imaginative to fit in with the music. We tried to use a variety of transitions to keep it interesting but also used some to fit in perfectly with the clips and music. At harsh beats and drops of the song, we would use a flash transition to exaggerate the beat of the music to make it more powerful and to show it has an influence on the clip. We also changed up the time remapping to show different speeds of footage to fit in with the rhythm, such as speeding footage up and slowing it down at certain points to accentuate parts or beats of the song.
We changed the style of the titles many times because we found it hard to find one that suited the feel of the song and the footage behind it. Also we changed the clips to have dark edges or dark top or bottom of the frames, to create intensity withing the frame. We also changed the exposure on some of the the clips to show brightness and darkness, this showed negative and positives throughout the video. Although most of the video is upbeat, we tried to interpret some darker shadowed clips to show tense moments.
